I am writing about things I do because, I'm ¢heap like that!

Make my own baby wipes.
My sister gave me this recipe for my baby shower and I though it was sorta lame. (sorry) But I've since become quite grateful for it. I like not having to pay for wipes or remember to pick them up from the store.
so here's the recipe:
High quality paper towel. cut roll in half. In container combine 2 tsp. soap and 1 tsp. baby oil and 1 3/4 cup hot water. Swirl to mix. Put paper towel into mixture and allow to soak it up. When cooled you can pull the cardboard tube and pull wipes from center of roll, or unroll into a wipe box. I like to put it in a wipe box.

Use vinegar and water to wash windows and mirrors. 1 part vinegar to 4 part water. It smells kind a funny for a little bit but the smell quickly vanishes.

Use vinegar as fabric softener in my laundry. Just put it in the fabric softener cup. It gets all the soap residue off your clothes.

Use dish soap for hand soap. Oh and water it down for the kids. It seems that no matter how much I tell them, "Just one little squirt" they always end up filling the sink with bubbles.

buy store brand everything.

use cloth diapers. I was really hesitant to do this. I just didn't think I could deal with poo in my washing machine or the smell and the inconvenience. But after I went through a crash course potty training with my then 3 year old, I realized it wasn't so bad. My sister gave me some diaper covers to use and my friend gave me so diapers so I thought I should give it a shot. Turns out it isn't so bad. I only do it part time. When I go out and at night I use disposables. It saved me at least $15.00 a month in diapers.

use coupons on dates, we've got past the impressing stage in our relationship, now we are in the frugal stage of it. The cheaper the better!

buy movie tickets at Costco. Did you know you can get Harkins movie tickets at Costco for $7.00? Way better then the ridiculous $9 something you have to pay at the box office.

Use Magic Jack for phone service. It is only $30 something the entire year. One draw back, the computer and internet has to be on for the phone to work.

Use Sister Savings to price match at WalMart. It's $6.00 a month but it saves me time and money.

dehydrate fruit before it goes bad

use empty sour cream and yogurt containers for leftovers so I don't have to buy tupperware or rubbermaid.

sew and craft things from my moms sewing room.

cut my husbands hair It has taken some practice but I finally got it figured out.

cut my kids hair

cut my own hair, it will always grow back, right?

take hand me down clothes, I can probably count on one hand items in my wardrobe that I purchased. undergarments are all brand new, in case you were wondering. I'm not THAT cheap. The only down size is I often get clothes that aren't my color or style; those get passed on to others. It's like a gift that keeps on giving.

bake bread, It isn't really cheaper then buying the cheap bread at the store but it is better quality.
